About the Network

We are a non-profit group funded by a grant from the New York State Department of Education, and managed by members of the Childhood/Early Childhood Education Department in the School of Education at the State University of New York at Cortland.  Other members of the network include school districts, teacher centers, SUNY Cortland faculty from Arts & Sciences and Professional Studies, as well as numerous educational institutions that provide professional development experiences for teachers.

Our goal is to improve student learning outcomes in this high-need region, by linking educators to high-quality, research-based professional development.  We partner directly with a number of local school districts and educational organizations to help plan, facilitate, and support educator professional development activities.  The network model provides a forum for sharing best practices and creating connections between members.  It also allows schools to leverage resources by connecting their needs to programs offered by other schools, community organizations, and institutions of higher learning.
